The Elevation of the Holy Cross.
Eleni Jiavaras and Elizabeth Katsivelos spent a wonderful afternoon with our beloved long time Philoptochos member, Athena Stamataky. Athena still lives in the same apartment on Seaman Avenue where she has lived for many years. She enjoys the view of Inwood Park and with the changing of the seasons the trees put on a beautiful show for her. As you can see from the above picture, Athena is doing well and still radiates her same sweet personality. We enjoyed traveling down “memory lane” with her as she shared pictures of her late husband, John, her sons, Harry and Evan and her treasured grandchildren. We showed her pictures of some of the present Philoptochos ladies and she was delighted each time she recognized a familiar face. She sends everyone her love and we are sure she would enjoy other visits.
